BUGSY MALONE CAST
After a long, but very successful audition weekend in early July, the Youth Group Production Team are thrilled to announce that the 2023 production of Bugsy Malone has been cast. The team saw over 60 young people for just 40 spaces; congratulations to everyone involved. We cannot wait to get started. Tickets go on sale in September.
KINKY BOOTS WINS AT NODA EAST AWARDS
A contingent from SWMTC went to the NODA East Awards in Stevenage in April and we are delighted to confirm that our 2022 production of Kinky Boots won Best Musical in District 7. Congratulations to all involved!
ALL THREE 2022 PRODUCTIONS NOMINATED FOR NODA AWARDS
We are thrilled that Kinky Boots, the Centenary Celebration Concert and the Youth Group production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat have all be nominated for NODA East Awards. The ceremony is in April, so fingers crossed!
JOSEPH PLAYS TO SOLD OUT AUDIENCES
SWMTC Youth Group’s production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat played to packed houses at Saffron Walden Town Hall, 9th - 12th November 2022. The audiences were enthralled by the famous story of Joseph and his Brothers and were incredibly positive in their feedback.
SWMTC SWEEPS THE BOARD AT NODA EAST AWARDS
Members of our main company and youth group attended the NODA East Awards on 10th April. We are thrilled to be able to announce that our 2020 production of My Fair Lady won Best Musical and the 2021 Youth Group production of The Wind in the Willows won Best Youth Production, Best Technical Production, Best Overall Production and Best Poster. In addition, Youth Group member, Corbin Abbasi won Best Youth Performer for his portrayal of Mole in The Wind in the Willows.

PERFORMERS WANTED!
October 2019: We are looking for new members for our forthcoming production of My Fair Lady. This classic Lerner and Loewe musical tells the story of Eliza Doolittle, a cockney flower girl, who is transformed into an elegant lady, and features one of musical theatre’s greatest scores.
We welcome people of all ages (over 18), experiences and abilities. Tenor and Bass singers are particularly welcomed. With plenty of social events and opportunities to help raise vital funds throughout the year, it is a real community of like-minded theatre-lovers.
Anybody wishing to join the company as a performer is warmly invited to attend the first rehearsal on Wednesday 16th October at the Baptist Church Hall (upstairs) from 8pm for an informal sing-a-long and to meet the production team. Auditions will take place later in the month.

February 2019: We are delighted to have been given a £1,000 donation by Persimmon Homes as part of their Persimmon Community Champions scheme. Since its launch in March 2015 they have donated over £2,250,000 to fund community initiatives.
